Equisupreme Stars tackle the sand dunes of Namibia - WALVISBAY 120KM, 2018

The Namib desert is one of the oldest deserts in the world and surrounds Walvis Bay where one of the gruellest endurance races in Africa is hosted.

The Walvis Bay endurance race takes horse and rider over some of the highest sand dunes in the world enduring all aspects of the vastness and solitude of the Namib desert. The Walvis Bay lagoon is the largest single area of shallow water on the West Coast of Africa. Its natural beauty is highlighted by the presence of pink flamingos and hundreds of bird species. Temperature vary from very hot to very cold due to the cold Benguela current running along the coast. Strong wind and severe sand storms or high humidity can be part of the gruelling race day for both horse and rider.
